Planning an outdoor wedding in Metro Houston-Galveston, Texas

Monday, December 21st, 2009

In Texas out door weddings are quite popular. There are many venues you might seek out if you are planning a outdoor wedding. First would be the location of the celebration of your vows. Locations such as your backyard, a neighborhood or subdivision park, a local beach, or a popular city or state park are some options. In the Houston area there are many such places that are excellent for your outdoor wedding:

1. Hermann or Memorial Park are excellent spots for outdoor weddings. At an outdoor wedding in the Park it will be witness usually by many people that usually ends after saying the I DOs with the crowd applauding and yahooing for the couple celebrating their wedding vows.

2. Backyard weddings are also very popular in the Houston area. A nice freshly cut & trimmed yard is a nice place to say your vows of committment to one another. Usually the celebration has a barbq pit all fired up and filled with good eats being cooked. There are several rental companies that can help in making this outdoor event simple or very fancy. Nothing is really required except a table for the minister to set up his alter and a number of folding chairs for the guests to sit in. But a rental company can also provide a wedding arch, tables, and cloth covered chairs. You can also hire a wedding musican for the ceremony, a DJ, or a band of the genre you prefer.  (Cost approximated: Minister $250, license to wed $45, musician $250-$750 depending on whom you select, food and beverages $250, rental of chairs, arch, etc $250). A very nice wedding can be had for around a $1000 especially if you are very budget conscience, yet it would be an everlasting memory for all that attend.

3. A Galveston Beach Wedding. These are some of my favorites. The Galveston Island State Park is a great place if the weather is agreeable. The pounding of the sea on the beach is an excellent background noise! Cost wise it’s the same as number 2. Not expensive yet a very memorable occassion. PLus in Galveston wedding are permitted on the Seawall and many are held at the Seawall Statue across form the San Luis Hotel. Moody Gardens also hosts weddings but the cost is 3-5 times that of a beach wedding and can be rather expensive, but it is a Most Beautiful place for outdoor weddings. The open beach at the San Luis Bridge is also a great spot to have your wedding officiated when the weather is beautiful. There are many other spots on the water in Galveston where a wedding may be officiated! Take a trip to Galveston, and do some sightseeing!

4. Gazebo Weddings! In the Houston Galveston Area there are many public and private Gazebos available. Some are free, but some hotels require you to stay in the hotel or pay a fee to rent the Gazebo for a wedding celebration. There are also several in the Galveston area. There is a beautiful Gazebo at the City of Rosenberg Park off Hwy 59 south. There are many subdivisions around Houston that have Gazebos with a small rental fee. These weddings also can be had for a total fee of around $600-$1000 for everything if you are thrifty, and yet provide a beautiful and lasting memory for all.

5. Country Club out door weddings. With multiple Country & Golf clubs in the Metro Houston-Galveston-Woodlands area these can turn out to be a most excellent place to hold your wedding but usually the price for the complete wedding will be 2-4x times higher, but you have the benefits of having a room to dress in and get prepared for the service. The Houston Equestrian Club in Katy, Texas also hosts weedings with an outdoor venue. This is also a great wedding spot. A Country Club out door wedding can be rather expensive if you want to go all out, with an Orchestra, a full course catered meal, flowers, and soveniers for the guests. But this is your weddings and you must decide on what you really want and desire in a celebration

6. Other locations include several restuarants in Houston that have Outdoor locations for weddings and other celebrations. prices on these can run from inexpensive to very expensive depending on your personal requirements;

Choosing A Reliable XBOX 360 Games Bundle Wisely and Preventing Future Errors

Sunday, December 13th, 2009
Who does not like to own XBOX 360? Choosing the right XBOX 360 games bundle can be a bit of a chore though. Many people are still afraid of the red ring of death. Also sometimes called the “rrod”. However the problems that caused that have been worked out and are being fixed, for the most part.

Many consumers find difficulties in choosing a problem-free version of the console. Most versions of the XBOX 360 have been upgraded with newer parts to prevent the rrod but there are still other errors that abound with older models. Examples include the E-71, the E-74 and the E-79. Sometimes the issue is with the hardware requiring Microsoft’s assistance if you don’t have the technical skills to fix it.

Of course since all the newer models don’t have these problems anymore all you have to do is pick one. Make your own decisions and choose the right Xbox 360 games bundles. The first game that you should consider is the game of the year version. The model shown here is the Xbox 360 Elite; it is black and comes bundles with Halo 3 and Fable 2. The majority of the elite systems have a huge 120 gigabyte hard drive and hdmi outputs in the rear.

You can expect to pay about five hundred dollars for it.00 USD, and can be kind of expensive. Then you have the arcade bundle which has just the plain XBOX 360 with no hard drive, no memory card, and two arcade game compilations. Although you are not able to get music updates, you will be able to save your games because most arcade models come with 256 megabytes of internal storage. This version retails for around $200.00 USD and is the most wallet friendly.

There is middle ground however; the pro system is available for $300.00 USD. You won’t usually find any games included with this bundle, but there are other pleasant surprises that are included. 60 gig hard drive, wireless controller, headset and hdmi output are maily used This is a nice bundle for those looking at the middle ground. Don’t worry; there are plenty of demos online that you can play to keep you busy till you can buy some games.

The motherboards are the biggest variations between the types. The arcades are all fitted with the latest motherboards that aren’t as power hungry, or hot, but the pros and elite’s have been a little slower to receive this upgrade. The arcade comes with a wired controller, and no hdmi port. The rrod has been eliminated and there is a 1 year warranty out of the box. Do not forget to register.

Only you can choose which Xbox 360 bundle is right for you. While many new versions of the XBOX 360 are available, plenty old models are still out there to be found as well. These may have the rrod problem. To be sure when the product was manufactured, check the back of the box; anything after the year 2009 should be okay. Now do you want the low end, middle ground, or uber expensive high end bundle?
